Because of the uncommonly long festival run we had for I Am a Ghost, people have been confused about when the official anniversary is. The film was shot in 2011, did the United States festival run in 2012, then the European run in 2013. It was released theatrically in 2014 and then on home video in 2015.
Well, now that Level 33 Entertainment is our new distributor, I Am a Ghost is receiving the deluxe Blu-Ray treatment with a new…[more]
Fruit Fly - the very first film I ever directed - has moved to Level 33 Entertainment, the distributor who currently has my most recent film The Secret Art of Human Flight! This is the first time the film has been on HD physical media AND it’s the first time the proper 5.1 soundtrack is being presented. (The previous tracks were mishandled during the ingestion process somewhere, and I’ll tell you what…[more]

Hey everybody, it’s H.P. again.
Usually, we do a sing-along after a singer dies (“Hey, let’s do Bowie!” / “Hey, let’s do Leonard Cohen!”) but this is the first time people have asked to do a specific song of mine: “Animated TV Show” (which you can hear/see at this link: https://www.hpmendoza.com/atvs ) In case you haven’t seen our previous videos, here’s a few seconds of each…[more]

Ok, this is nuts. Our last in-person sing-along, Nomad, was in April of 2019 at the Roxie theater before I moved to Tokyo and the pandemic hit which resulted in all those virtual sing-alongs. It’s time for another...[more]

Today, our distributor put out the final trailer for the digital release of The Secret Art of Human Flight, and I’ll post it at the end of this piece. I’m thankful to everyone for supporting me during what is always the most important time for me: The release of another movie. Other folks have children; I have these films. It’s what I do. It’s all I want to talk about. It’s my passion, my insecurity and my pride. Even though it’s the first film I directed that I didn’t write, I...[more]

Leah Ferrer started brainstorming with me about ways to "die with dignity" on November 17, 2022 and she gave ALL of us until April 30, 2024 (today) to say goodbye. She was in Switzerland this morning when she passed and we were all over here on Zoom and, while we all agreed that it was an amazing opportunity to be able to say goodbye, it…[more]
