I generally compose all of my own music and do all of my own sound design for my films and projects, corporate or otherwise. The only time I co-designed with someone was for my film Bitter Melon and even then it was just to work with an orchestra to be recorded for Dolby Atmos; the sound design was still 90% mine.
Here are some samples of sound design that work with video games, interface sounds, soundscaping and music from various projects.
H.P.
SUPER FIGHTER
Fake Street Fighter II for use in my film, Bitter Melon. I made all of the sound effects and vocals (compressed to be era-appropriate, too) to sound like a 90's fighting game. (Also composed the music)
Super Museum Hunt
I made a game for the third floor of my Takeover at the Asian Art Museum and I composed music to sound like launch era SNES games, and the UI was made to sound reminiscent of games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
THE SECRET ART OF HUMAN FLIGHT
For an example of soundscapes and design (plus music composition), here is the most recent feature film I directed in which I composed all of the music and did all of the sound design.
SECRET ART #1: WINNEBAGO
The only production audio in this clip is actor Grant Rosenmeyer’s voice. All other elements were created in post.
SECRET ART #2: CHASE
The only production audio used in this scene were the voices of actors Grant Rosenmeyer and Rosa Arredondo. All other music and sound effects created in post.
SECRET ART #3: ESCAPE
The only production audio used were the voices of actors Rosa Arredondo and Paul Raci. The voices of Grant Rosenmeyer and Maggie Grace were ADR and all music, soundscape and sound effects were created in post.
I AM A GHOST
The second film I ever directed, re-released in theaters and on Special Edition BluRay in 2024 for its 10th Anniversary. This section of the film is an example of soundscape + sound design and vocal effects - all done in post.
NUDE Audio
I directed, shot, composed and sound designed this longform ad which was shot completely silent so all soundscaping was done from scratch.
IT’S NOT REAL
(dir. Tina Carbone) *6 min, 59 sec
A short horror film that gets re-released every Halloween on which I did all of the sound design and music composition.
