Thanks to everyone who came to Mission Arcade on March 11! Unfortunately, I didn't get any footage of the awesome VR reactions in the front room, nor did we get footage of the MarioKart battles in the Ersatz room, but here is our "continuousdancekaraoke" concept in 2 minutes!
(We'll probably figure out a catchier name than "continuousdancekaraoke" at some point.)
And here is the Bay Area Flash Mob with the full performance of the "Evolution of Hip-Hop" routine!
If anyone took pictures of the 50lb pig or the Golden Record cake made by Mark Del Lima, please let us know!
Mission Arcade has happened at some unexpected places, but the San Francisco Asian Art Museum was the last place we expected to throw our scrappy little nerd party. Check out the video below!
Thanks to everyone for coming out and dancing/gaming/sangin' - with only a few days notice, we can still put on a hoppin' party!
"Let's do the Timewarp again!"
Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly. The location had to be determined on the fly, and you all made it. Love wins! DOMA IS FUCKING GONE!
H.P. covers The New Pornographers with electric ukulele and chiptune dance synths
The crowd participation was unexpectedly moving. So much love in the audience and on stage. Excuse the audio, it was taken from various phones throughout the night. It was amazing to hear the audience singing along with the song. And seeing as how so many of our friends and family were there, there was audience harmony, too! From where we stood, seeing the people hanging out the windows and off the balconies to watch us as the fog coasted past the stars was super magical. Thanks to everyone who showed up. :)
Folks from the Center for Asian American Media came to game and booze. Stephane Gauger (Owl and the Sparrow) created a pyramid of lumpia. Tanuj Chopra (Punching at the Sun) showed up with a Darth Maul figurine. Rich Wong (Colma: The Musical) and J.P. Chan (A Picture of You) discussed filmmaking and not quitting your day job. And Nguyen Tran narrowly escaped being beat down at Dance Dance Revolution by H.P.!
