Hey everybody! The past few months have been crazy with delivery work, and I shipped the drive off to Level 33 with every version of the film they asked for (4:3, 16x9, text free, etc.) and all of the redone captions (the .VTT file we got from Rev wasn’t up to spec, so I made a version that honors the film as well as its music) and ALL of the damn cue sheets. This is three documents at about 50 to 60 pages each. I won’t share those here because they’re not interesting, but below are the creative assets that also had to be made in time for delivery. Hope you like.

LEVEL 33 LOGO

This is the existing LEVEL 33 Logo as it appears in trailers and their films.

H.P.’s design statement:
I’d love to stylize the logo to give it a “Secret Art” feel. The movie itself feels like a character drama from the 70s, I’d love to find a way to reflect that.

Provocation:
How might we redesign the logo and animation to give it a sense of history and cinema?

CINEMA BLUE

There’s a look attributed to prestige films that’s minimalist, almost (if not completely) silent, and uses a shade of blue as the background. This is cinema blue and you can see various uses here, inclduing big studio variants.

We can evoke certain memories of 70’s character dramas by actually mimicking the motion design of an early cinema blue implementations. Below is the redesigned Level 33 logo that will play before The Secret Art of Human Flight

And with that…

THEATRICAL TRAILER (CINEMA BLUE)

TV AD, “Cast“ (30 seconds)

And the NOT so weird commercial:

TV AD, “CURRENT ANXIETIES” (30 SECONDS)

And I made an ad that I think will speak to peoples’ anxieties around events happening everywhere and especially as elections approach. (AND we’re opening on 4th of July weekend, so our country is going to be on everyones’ minds)

TV AD,, “PSYCHEDELIC” (30 SECONDS)

And a little something for the folks who do drugs LOL.

ONE MINUTE TRAILER

Level 33 wanted a one minute trailer, so I combined my favorite 30 second ad with the theatrical trailer.

SPECIAL FEATURES!

These are usually saved for physical releases, like BluRay or DVD but I know that KINO could use some assets for their premiere of our film, so while we wait to hear from them I just want to have these available.

FLIGHT ANIMATIC

BIRD ANIMATIC

COP CAR SPLIT-SCREEN

CAST REACTIONS

DELETED SCENES

Gotta be honest. When a director isn’t honest, you can tell.

THEATRICAL POSTER #1

This is 27”x41” (One-sheet) so imagine this huge and in a lobby.

MOTION POSTER FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

I had to make one of these just because they look fucking cool, whether it’s in a video poster frame on a wall or posted on Instagram and TikTok.

And that’s it! For NOW, at least. I’ll be making more assets on the fly as we receive more reviews. Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
